Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Domestic Violence Allegations Involving Wide Receiver the Athlete
The NFL franchise issued a statement on Wednesday evening indicating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and had been in contact with the league office.
The organization did not mention the player specifically in their announcement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”.

The woman, who likewise did not name the athlete directly, posted a set of images on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. Jones did say the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.

No police reports were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have taken place.
Player's Prior Legal Issues
The receiver missed the first six games of this NFL campaign following an NFL suspension for his role in causing a crash on a Dallas highway that left several individuals hurt. Rice was sentenced a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
Statistically, Rice finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first time in a ten-year span.
