Trevoh Chalobah Set to Step in for Marc Guehi in England Selection

Trevoh Chalobah playing for England

The Chelsea star emulated his sibling Nathaniel in representing England, emerging as the twenty-first duo of brothers to earn caps for the national team.

The Chelsea defender is expected to link up with the England squad to fill in for unavailable Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.

The 26-year-old footballer is set to meet up with the team for England's remaining World Cup qualifying matches against Serbia and Albania, although it has still not been confirmed.

The England team have already secured qualification for next summer's competition.

Chalobah earned his initial selection under England manager Thomas Tuchel in May and then played his first game against Senegal.

In September, Tuchel stated Chalobah was unlucky to be left out from the selection for qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia, and also omitted him for the next October fixtures.

Tuchel has been an significant presence in Chalobah's progress, having awarded him his Chelsea debut in the year 2021.

Chalobah has featured in nearly all matches for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the team third in the Premier League, in the Carabao Cup last eight and in the group stage of the Champions League.

Guehi suffered a injury to his foot in Crystal Palace's Conference League win over the Dutch side last week.

There are likely to be additional additions to the squad. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has announced that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (a concussion) are set to pull out from the England setup.
